Remembering Lucy
In memory of our sweet granddaughter Olive Lucy l hope you'll remember her today as we do...Happy 11th Birthday Olive Lucy.
A favorite poem of mine that was written by a
friend of Thich Nhat Hanh. a Budhist about"The
Dandelion Has My Smile"
"I have lost my smile, But don't worry. The
Dandelion has it"
Come, look with me inside memories of we love "Olive Lucy's" Day, In these memories l've often seen, At the reflection as though pictures, black and white, still, and serene. I might not know or remember every person's
name and I wish I knew all their names, some strangers to me but not to "Lucy", they too will have memories, perhaps they will remember and share with us all, I have often wondered what her life would be like, how would she spend her days? What about her special times? l'll never know her ways.
I would like to ask your indulgence as I reflect on her day of remembrance.
What do I remember... I would like to take the time to save this story .... I remember boarding a plane with great hopes, with a luggage filled with gifts for this new life we would welcome this day. I remember being picked up at the airport, I remember arriving at the hospital having a feeling something was not right, never thinking that this would be one of the most significant days of my life, when saying hello meant saying goodbye... Take time to save your stories, Seize the opportunity when it knocks, Or someday you and yours, Could be strangers in the box.
Happy 11th Birthday "Olive Lucy" may you always know we know when you are near...we love you angel baby and miss you beyond words on this and every day we breathe.
